Romer Ranch Land Exchange Finalized

Western Land Group, Inc. is proud to announce the successful completion of the Romer Ranch Land Exchange. Western Land Group put together the transaction in which Romer Ranch LLC traded one of the last remaining private inholdings in Roxborough State Park, along with cash, to the State in exchange for 320 acres adjacent to the Romer family ranch outside of Bailey, Colorado. The 20-acre Roxborough inholding represented Roxborough Park’s highest priority acquisition.

"This exchange was a model trade for the State," said Charles Bedford, Director of the Colorado State Land Board. "The State Land Board disposed of land at its appraised value to the current lessee in exchange for cash and a piece of property crucial to long-term well-being of Roxborough State Park." By conveying the State property to the agricultural lessee, this kind of exchange promotes sound stewardship of the land, achieves long-term agricultural productivity and provides for community stability.
