Tom Glass
  • Tom Glass is the founder of Western Land Group, American Wetlands, Crested Butte State Bank, Gunnison Valley Insurance, and other enterprises. He is a former Colorado State Senator and Mayor of Crested Butte. Since 1982, Tom has completed a wide variety of complex real estate transactions with local, state, and Federal agencies.

    Tom has testified before Congress regarding real estate related matters affecting public lands on numerous occasions. While in the Colorado State Senate, he served on the Committee on Agriculture, Energy and Natural Resources, the Committee on Transportation, and the Committee on Health, Environment, Welfare, and Institutions.

    Tom has managed and directed numerous political campaigns for candidates seeking local, state and Federal offices. Colorado Governors Dick Lamm, Roy Romer, and Bill Owens appointed Tom to various positions, boards and commissions including the State Parks Board and the Passenger Tramway Safety Board.

    As Executive Director of the Northwest Colorado Council of Governments, Tom reported to a board of directors consisting of thirty-one local government officials and was responsible for negotiations with local, state and Federal agencies. In 1982 Tom was a Gates Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Grant Colvin
  • Grant Colvin is a veteran public affairs leader with broad experience in public lands, conservation, outdoor recreation, agriculture, and manufacturing. At Western Land Group, he draws from an interdisciplinary background to work creatively with public, private, and non-profit clients to move projects through an increasingly complicated government and political landscape.

    Prior to joining Western Land Group and launching an independent consultancy, Grant worked in the ski industry. Among other activities, he helped facilitate the acquisition of over 20 ski areas in four years, including the first majority stake in a European ski area by a U.S. ski company in 2022. 

    Grant earlier held roles in the U.S. Senate. As professional staff on the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, Grant was associated with helping pass the 2014 Farm Bill, strengthening the domestic grain inspection system, bringing greater price transparency to livestock markets, building trade relations with Cuba, and a diversity of other initiatives.

    Grant holds a B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife and two kids. When not gamboling in the mountains and across ranches for client projects, he likes to run, ski, read, write, and cook meals with the family.

Errol Rice

  • Errol Rice brings a unique blend of experience in land, ranching, natural resources, public policy, and business strategy across the American West.

    At Western Land Group, Errol works with private landowners, corporations, and public agencies to structure and negotiate complex land transactions, including federal and state land exchanges. He previously served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Bureau of Land Management within the U.S. Department of the Interior, where he advised the agency’s Director on grazing and land-use policy across more than 155 million acres of public lands.

    Errol also served as a Director at Profitable Ideas Exchange, where he advised clients on building strategic relationships with Fortune 250 CFOs and senior executives across industries including private equity, manufacturing, construction, and real estate.

    Earlier in his career, he served as Executive Vice President of the Montana Stockgrowers Association and worked in Washington, D.C., on trade and marketing policy for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.

    Errol currently serves on the board of Montana Land Reliance, reflecting his commitment to conserving Montana’s working lands and open spaces.

    Errol is a licensed Montana real estate salesperson and an insurance broker specializing in weather and market risk management for landowners. He holds an MBA from the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science from Montana State University. He lives in Bozeman with his wife, Kelley, and their two sons, Jack and Will. As a family, they enjoy skiing, camping, rafting, and spending time outdoors.

Todd Robertson

  • Todd Robertson has worked in the conservation field for over 20 years. Most recently, he was director of the Summit County (Colorado) Open Space and Trails Department, where he led land conservation efforts that protected over 13,000 acres of open space.

    At Summit County, Todd creatively used a variety of conservation tools and collaborative partnerships, leveraging public funds to maximize open space protection. Some of Todd’s previous experiences include coordinating the land acquisition process for North Carolina State Parks and several years of public lands policy analysis and grassroots organizing which culminated in the passage of the Colorado Wilderness Act of 1993. Todd was a founder of the Colorado Open Space Alliance – a professional organization for local government open space staffs – and served on its steering committee for seven years.

    Todd has also served on the Colorado Coalition of Land Trusts board of directors, the Town of Frisco planning commission, and the Town of Frisco Economic Development Advisory Committee. He has been a speaker at numerous conferences including National Land Trust Rally, Colorado Open Space Alliance, and National Park Service Land Resources Program.

    Todd holds a Master of Public Administration degree and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. He is a licensed real estate broker.

  • Lee Scott is an accomplished technical specialist with a focus on GIS technology and innovative mapping programs. His contributions include identification and analysis of natural resource features, exercising a meticulous attention to detail and broad understanding of complex environmental systems across diverse landscapes.

    Prior to joining Western Land Group, Lee held various roles the in the craft brewing industry and in outdoor education.

    Lee earned a B.A. in Environmental Science from Wartburg College and is a licensed real estate agent in Colorado. When not immersed in maps or commanding a drone over Western lands, Lee enjoys rock climbing, Nordic skiing alongside his dog, and soccer with friends. He calls Frisco, CO home.

  • Andy Wiessner has facilitated Congressionally approved land exchanges for WLG’s clientele since 1988. Andy’s expertise in legislative affairs stems from his extensive experience in Washington D.C. that includes serving as counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Public Lands and National Parks, and the Subcommittee on Mines and Mining. He has also served as a mediator for projects involving the National Wildlife Federation, U.S. Park Service, and others.

    Andy holds a law degree from Boston University and is a graduate of Dartmouth College. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Wilderness Land Trust, the Eagle Valley Land Trust, and the High Country News.
